Sirsa (25 January, 2008): The holy birthday of the second Guru of Dera Sacha Sauda, His Holiness Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj, was celebrated here with pomp and gaiety. Around one crore faithful from different parts of the country and the world sang and danced in celebration of the holy birthday of their Murshid-e-Kaamil. Besides the main pandaal, specially erected pandaals covering an area of 30 acres each were filled to the brim with devotees. TV sets and huge screens were also used in these pandaals to telecast the Satsang. On the occasion, the present Guru of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sant Gurmeet Ram-Rahim Singh Ji ‘Insan’ greeted the assembled devotees on the holy birthday and urged them to continue with their social welfare activities. Guruji also gave away souvenirs to volunteers who had provided their services in social welfare activities.
At the beginning of the Satsang, the assembled Sadh-Sangat greeted Guruji on the holy birthday by uttering the holy slogan of Dhan Dhan Satguru Tera Hi Asra. Guruji in his Satsang address said that Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj had helped lakhs of people get rid of their addiction to intoxicants and other bad habits and had connected them with Ram Naam and made them worthy of realising Allah, Waheguru, Ram. It is because of the teachings of Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj that the volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda are known throughout the world for their welfare work. Whether it is in India or abroad, be it blood donation or donation of eyes and body after death, be it giving away food and clothes to the needy or building houses for the homeless, be it tree plantation drives or campaigns against foeticide, drugs and other such social evils, the Sadh Sangat of Dera Sacha Sauda is always in the forefront. Guruji said that the Sadh Sangat had to date supplied 90,000 units of blood to the needy, which amounts to approximately 30,000 liters, which is an incredible achievement. Guruji exhorted the Sadh Sangat to continue to march ahead on the path of salvation by helping the poor and the needy and keeping connected with Ram Naam. He said that if people lived by the principles of religion instead of just making a show of it, the world would become a better place the next instant.
During the Satsang Guruji gave away souvenirs and prizes to volunteers who had provided their services in welfare work from the different blocks of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Volunteers from USA, Canada, UAE and England were also felicitated. The welfare activities carried out by these volunteers include blood donation, planting trees, helping the needy with money, pledging to donate their body and eyes after death, giving their children to childless couples, etc. Guruji also felicitated outstanding students from Shah Satnam Ji Educational Institutions who had made their mark in the field of education and sports at the national and international level. Around a hundred dowry-free marriages were conducted on the day, including those of many couples from the tribal areas of Udaipur in Rajasthan. After the Satsang, Guruji gave away the priceless Naam Shabad to thousands in an effort to connect them with God and to help them get rid of their addiction to intoxicants and other evils. Of note, the Satsang was broadcast live in foreign countries through the Internet.
