Sacha Sauda is not a new religion, cult, sect or wave. Sacha Sauda is that spiritual activity by which God is worshipped under the guidance of the Satguru. This path of God realization has been coming down ages since the earliest times. Many saints and seers incarnated in this mortal world and inspired us to do this Sacha Sauda and became the guiding lights of spirtuality. These saints and seers were knowers of this supreme science and tried to make this mystical subject easy for the common man. One such torchbearer of spirituality was Beparwah Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj who did the most noble of services to mankind by establishing in 1948 the spiritual college of Dera Sacha Sauda in order to save people from the complexities, malpractices and superficial rituals that had been afflicting religion and for the salvation of souls.

Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa also runs a Rehab Centre. Scores of people have given up drug abuse in this centre. Present Guru Ji, Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji has started a Drug Prevention Campaign against the use of intoxicants. Guru Ji inspires people to give up their drug addiction in every spiritual congregation. People willing to give up their addiction will have to stay in Dera Sacha Sauda for seven days and most often without medical treatment the rehabilitation takes place. They have a hospital with in the same compound of Dera Sacha Sauda. Medical treatment is available for the addicts free of cost if required. Guru Ji motivate them to do hard work and meditate to gain control and strength. Till today no one of them has experienced ‘cold turkey’ (Cold Turkey is a term used by addicts to describe their withdrawal symptoms, whilst giving up heroin and includes nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, yawning, coughing, sneezing, pain in the stomach, back and joints coupled with feeling cold and hair on the body rising.) Substance abusers / chemical dependants approaching the institution are Poly-drug abusers, including heroin abusers, cocaine abusers, alcohol, tobacco, solvent, etc. The institution sees chemical dependency (Drug Addiction) as a behavioural disorder and encourages the addicts to bring about a positive change in their personality.
