Sirsa (October 8, 2008): The anniversary of the passing away
of the revered Bapu Magghar Singh Ji (father of Hazur Pita Gurmeet Ram-Rahim
Singh Ji Insan) was commemorated today by Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’
Welfare Force as Paramarthi Diwas. f A massive blood donation and free medical
camp was organised on this occasion. Thirteen teamsrom blood banks from different
parts of the country participated in this camp and collected 4,407 units of
blood. In the free medical camp held simultaneously, specialist doctors checked
1,519 patients suffering from heart ailments, cancer, diabetes and other diseases
and gave them medicines.
Before this, Hazur Pita Ii inaugurated the camp by joining
ribbons and met the doctors who had come to attend the camp and gave them his
blessings. Members of the holy family including Mata Naseeb Kaur Ji Insan (the
revered mother of Hazur Pitaji) and others initiated the blood donation proceedings.
Members of the managing committee of the Dera and other prominent people were
present on the occasion.
In the blood donation camp, which is an annual event in the
Dera calendar held in remembrance of Bapuji, thirteen blood banks participated
including Sonipat Blood Bank; Indian Red Cross Society, Ludhiana; PGI, Rohtak;
Paras Blood Bank, Jodhupur; Civil Hospital, Hissar; Lions Blood Bank, Delhi;
Civil Hospital, Sirsa; Sri Krishna Hospital Society, Ludhiana; AIIMS Trauma
Center Blood Bank, Delhi; and City Blood Bank, Bhiwani. The teams were highly
appreciative of the arrangements made at the camp and also commended the spirit
and enthusiasm shown by the donors.
The faithful had begun forming long queues in the morning itself
to donate blood and pay their obeisance to Bapu Ji. Besides the general public,
thousands of volunteers of Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Force
from Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and other states donated blood.
The staff and students (both boys and girls) of Shah Satnam Ji Educational Institutions
including many of its athletes also donated blood. Notably, women in prominent
numbers participated in the blood donation. Some of the doctors who had come
to provide their services during the event also donated blood, including Dr.
Tanuj Dada, Dr. Geeta Dada, Dr. Hemali Insan and Dr. Kuldeep Sharma Insan. The
celibate resident volunteers of the Dera also donated blood.
The spirit behind the camp was evident from the happy faces
of the donors after donating blood and the sad faces and tears in the eyes of
those who were not allowed to donate for various health reasons. The camp that
began in the early hours of the morning continued into the evening.
